The Homer area plays host to all five species of Pacific Salmon. Available year round, Feeder King Salmon work our near shore waters, putting on weight during the years before they return to spawn. These fish are in their prime and pound for pound offer maximum fighting capabilities at the rod and unsurpassed dining qualities at the table.

King Salmon headed for our local streams to spawn, as well as the world famous Kenai River, are present from May through mid July. The potential for catching that MONSTER KING improves during this time. Sockeyes (red salmon) and Humpys (pink salmon) help fill the gap before the arrival of those ariel acrobats, the Coho Salmon (silver salmon), in August.

This is Down Rigger Trolling for Salmon; with an approximate running time to the fishing grounds of 20 to 90 minutes, depending on tide, weather and the latest fishing action.
